Morwan is a Berlin-based post-punk act formed in 2019 in Kyiv, Ukraine by Alex Ashtaui. In 2023 Stefan Shtuchenko joins the band on bass ansince then they perform as a duo. Morwan’s music is primarily dynamic and dark post-punk mixed with noise and shoegaze, often with elements of folk and ethno music. At the core of their music is always formidable drumming with rhythmic bass. Deep atmospheric synthesizers, cyclic guitar parts and piercing elements of folk instruments. All these elements are extremely rhythmic, but woven together to create a sense of chaotic primitive dance. Morwan has crafted a musical fusion that bridges the gap between ancient traditions and contemporary darkness, a testament to the enduring power of creativity and the boundless depths of human expression.

The band has released 3 full-length albums, on labels such as Feel It Records, Detriti Records, Reclusion Records, Death Shadow, as well as play multiple concerts and festivals all over Europe. At the moment Morwan continues to work with Feel It Records, which is based in Cincinnati, USA. Their latest album “Все По Колу, Знову” (All Goes Round, Again) has been released in October 2026.
