CHARLIE / Leona Jacewska – Berlin-based Italo/EBM/Synthwave artist hailing from the polish city of Krakow. There she caters to Krakow’s visual art scene as the CO-director of the project space “Elementarz dla mieszkańców miast” and throws parties under the name Szum uniting cold mutant electro with sparkling italo disco. Behind the decks she has been smashing dancefloors for years, selecting an eclectic yet always driving mix drawing from the same influences. But as a skilled pianist, she was always drawn to creating her own music as well. She contributed several projects for movies and performances – and over the years fleshed out a killer live show using analog synthesizers and machines, which she presented at such festivals as Unsound, Black! Factory, Up to Date and Kalabalik Pa Tyrolen. You can check her releases on labels such as Ferry Lane Records, Mechatronica, Worn Pop and Dom Trojga. In 2024 her catalogue will be replenished with the upcoming works on Wrong Era and Pinkman.
