UK punk outfit Rifle released their debut EP ‘Under Two Flags’ on October 27th 2023 via a new hardcore imprint, Standard Process, in association with One Little Independent Records.

Originally meeting while working for a retailer in Camden, Rifle bonded on a shared love for 77 punk and UK Hardcore before racking up slots with the likes of High Vis, The Chisel, Chubby and the Gang, Puffer and Home Front. They gained quick notoriety on the local circuit before releasing their 2022 ‘Holloway Demos’.

Their immediate live sound captures the biting relevance of 70s UK punk and raw ferocity of 80s US hardcore, with a healthy dose of inspiration coming from the anarcho-punk scene of the time. Their shows often feature a cover of anarcho originators and OLI founders Flux Of Pink Indians.

Their on-stage frankness and the brutality of their short, sharp and abrasive delivery, leaves an undeniable impact and adds further authenticity to themes of radical disenfranchisement. As is characterised by the scene at large,lyrics of working class political abandonment are rife, the lasting impact of austerity and the treatment of the public by self-imposed authorities is felt keenly in the anger and frustration on display.
