Horror Vacui is a five-piece post-punk/death-rock
band from Bologna, Italy. Formed in 2011 by singer Koppa, HV emerged during the first wave of the modern post-punk revival, alongside underground bands of friends like The Estranged, Spectres, Belgrado and more. All five members are active in the DIY punk and underground scene and are involved in other ongoing projects (Marthe, Vespertina, Morgana and Allerta!). Since forming, Horror Vacui has toured extensively across Europe (2012, 2013, 2015, 2018), the U.S. (2014, 2017), Mexico and Colombia (2019), and most recently England (2024). Following the pandemic and a lineup change, the band has just completed recording their fifth full-length album, slated for release in 2025.

HV has shared the stage with The Chameleons, She Past Away, Molchat Doma, Belgrado, Sect, Spectres, The Bellicose Minds, Sunn O))), Drab Majesty, Lydia Lunch, TSOL, Christian Death, Goblin, Lathe Of Heaven, Messa and more. Over the years, HV released a wide range of formats (LPs, 7” singles, tapes, and a special six-cassette box set marking their 10th anniversary).

Their releases have undergone multiple repressings and have been issued by several different labels (Avant! Records, Sabotage, HPGD, Black Water, Improved Sequence, and Agipunk).
