Few bands in contemporary extreme music channel urgency with the conviction of Kathmandu, Nepal’s CHEPANG. Since forming in 2016, the band have pushed grindcore beyond its traditional boundaries, transforming it into a vehicle for political confrontation, cultural memory and emotional weight.

Across Dadhelo: A Tale of Wildfire, Chatta, Swatta and Jhyappa, CHEPANG have continually expanded their sound while remaining fiercely committed to the DIY ethos that shaped their beginnings. Relentless touring has taken them across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Nepal, including appearances at Maryland Deathfest, Obscene Extreme Festival and Ear Slaughter Festival.

Built on the raw foundation of punk and grindcore, their music breaks apart and rebuilds itself through spoken word, noise, electronic elements, hip-hop, saxophone and extreme metal. CHEPANG gather languages, histories and experiences into a collective force: uncompromising, immediate and unmistakably their own.
