BANDE Á PART

Booking Agent : Ricky Biondetti & Marco Portello

Bande á Part is a London-based alternative rock band. A five-piece led by songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Sabina Hellstrom, whose work as a musician, poet and multidisciplinary artist has made her a distinctive voice in the city’s underground creative scene. Completed by Mary Elizabeth on guitar, Miles Lavelle-Golding on keys and percussion, Gennaro Romano on bass guitar, and Craig Whyte Doporto on drums. The band fuse alternative rock, electronic elements, blues and trip-hop into confrontational rock energy and intensity into a sound that feels volatile, physical and unflinchingly alive.
At the centre of Bande á Part is Sabina Hellstrom: a writer and musician who moved to London at 19 from a working-class background with no connections, only an instinctive need to build a life around art, words and sound. Immersing herself in the city’s grassroots music and poetry scenes, she cut her teeth as a live music booker across South and East London while performing poetry in back rooms, bookshops, chapels and independent art spaces. After years spent watching too many forgettable male-fronted bands pass across the stages, she decided to make the kind of band she wanted to see: uncompromising, female-led, confrontational and impossible to ignore.

Bande á Part began in an old piano factory warehouse in East London, surrounded by artists and musicians where Hellstrom lived. That environment became more than their rehearsal space; it became the foundation for the band’s ethos. Their music is rooted in the belief that if you want to be part of something, you have to build it yourself. The result is a band that feels inseparable from London’s music culture: raw, communal, restless, and shaped by the pressure of making work outside of conventional systems.
The name came about from the English translation of the French words meaning Band of Outsiders from the 1964 film by Godard. Sabina thought it fit. The band has a strong visual language, as visceral as their live shows as they put emphasis on their music videos and striking visuals, with Hellstrom having studied music in Sweden and film in London prior to starting the band. Taking inspiration from Joan of Arc, literary figures such as Walt Whitman, pop culture, ’90s acts like The Prodigy and Massive Attack, and of course the obvious punk and rock influences, all the way from Lou Reed to blues key figure John Lee Hooker.

Their debut EP, Grit, released digitally on April 10th 2026 following a sold-out vinyl pressing, is a four-track statement of resilience. Across “Teething,” “How to Feel,” “Swan song” and “Chaos,” Bande á Part explores identity, modern desensitisation and resistance to conformity, transforming vulnerability, desire and inner conflict into something forceful and cathartic. The record moves through themes of womanhood, coming of age, love, guilt, and of desire. Never allowing softness to become passive or anger to become one-dimensional. The majority of the EP was recorded in a neighbouring warehouse by the band themselves and produced by Alberto De Torres along with Sabina Hellstrom. The track “Chaos” was recorded at Teeth Studios & The Union Chapel and produced by Patrick James Fitzroy. “Chaos” blends post-punk and alt rock with dark electric guitars, and a fast, driving rhythm using The Union Chapel’s 1800th century organ mixed with a Yamaha school keyboard that Sabina found in a charity shop for £20, accompanied by Morgan from Fat Dog on saxophone. ‘Chaos’ the debut track was a representation of how internal conflict fuels artistic expression.
