Night Tempo

Booking Agent : Luca Ciscognetti

A Korean producer and DJ who emerged from the “Future Funk” scene: an internet-born music genre that reconstructs 80’s Japanese pop into dance music, this is Night Tempo.

His re-edit of Mariya Takeuchi’s “Plastic Love” became a viral hit primarily online, contributing to the recent city pop boom. He is also a collector of Showa-era cassette tapes and deeply admires Toshio Kadomatsu and Daft Punk. In 2019, he launched the ‘Showa Groove’ series, updating Showa-era pop for the modern era. Starting with Wink, he has released 19 titles to date, including works by Anri, 1986 Omega Tribe, Miki Matsubara, Kaoru Akimoto, Momoko Kikuchi, Junko Yagami, Kyoko Koizumi, Takashi Hosokawa, Taiha, and Yu Hayami.

In December 2021, he released his first major-label original album, ‘Ladies In The City’. The following July, he performed at Fuji Rock Festival ‘22, and this August, he made his debut appearance at Summer Sonic 2023.

Then, carrying his second album ‘Neo Standard’ released on September 20th, he held his Japan tour “The Night Tempo Show”, visiting four cities nationwide. Seeking to spread the appeal of 80’s Japanese Pops overseas, he has been featured extensively on terrestrial TV and is one of the most talked-about international artists right now.
