Michael Brook is a Canadian composer, producer, recording artist and guitarist whose work moves between ambient, world, electronic, Americana and orchestral music. A Golden Globe and Grammy nominee, he is also the inventor of the Infinite Guitar, an instrument that became central to his distinctive sustained sound.

Brook began his career as a recording artist, collaborator and producer, working with figures including Brian Eno, David Sylvian, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, The Pogues and Jane Siberry, and with labels such as 4AD and Real World Records. Albums including Hybrid, Cobalt Blue and Live at the Aquarium established a body of work built from unusual instrumental combinations, rhythmic detail and expansive atmosphere.

His film scores include Brooklyn, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Fighter, Into the Wild, An Inconvenient Truth and the Oscar-winning documentary Undefeated. In 2026, 4AD returned Cobalt Blue and Live at the Aquarium to circulation in newly remastered editions, bringing Brook’s landmark guitar work back into focus.
