Loma Prieta is an American hardcore punk band from San Francisco, California. The group formed in 2005 and is named after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Their music blends a range of styles, most prominently screamo and powerviolence. Loma Prieta has released six full-length albums, as well as several EPs and singles. Their most recent album, Last, was released in 2023 to critical acclaim. The album was praised for its intense and emotionally charged sound, as well as its lyrical themes of loss, anger, and resilience. They´ve toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan. They have shared the stage with bands such as Converge, Deafheaven, and Touché Amoré.
