Houses Of Heaven

Booking Agent : Nikita Netrebko & Ricky Biondetti

Emerging from the vibrant heart of Oakland’s music scene, Houses of Heaven crafts a sound that traverses the boundaries of techno rhythms, early industrial, shoegaze, and 90s dance music influences like drum and bass, establishing a captivating niche that pulls audiences into their world. The band, comprising Keven Tecon (vocals, keys, guitar), Adam Beck (keys, guitar), and Rachel Travers (drums), brings a wealth of experience from prior projects; Keven was formerly with The Soft Moon, and both Keven and Rachel were members of the Bay Area’s Wax Idols.

Their sophomore LP, Within/Without (2024) under the Felte label, plunges deeper into intricate intensity, showcasing production by Matia Simovich (INHALT) and guest vocals from Douglas McCarthy (Nitzer Ebb) and Mariana Saldaña (BOAN, Boy Harsher’s “Machina”). In Within/Without, Houses of Heaven hone a distinctive mix of electronic, industrial, psychedelic, and shoegaze elements, while grappling with themes of connection and isolation in a world often numbed by technology and overwhelmed by paranoia. Written predominantly during their time in Los Angeles, the album’s lyrics probe themes of intimacy, desire, and visceral human touch amid an isolating culture of consumption. It reflects the tension of a dual-front war: the internal struggle and the battles we face within the world. This deeply personal record, more introspective than their debut, delves into the pull between inner dreams and the challenge of engaging authentically with the external world.

Silent Places (2020), the band’s debut album, blended early industrial beats and techno rhythms with shoegaze melodicism and dub-inflected effects. Written against a backdrop of Northern California wildfires, growing tent cities, and the unchecked rise of luxury housing in the Bay Area, Silent Places offered a raw look into intimate moments within the chaos of modern urban life, establishing Houses of Heaven as a profound voice in today’s music landscape.
