UNDERGANG was formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in the summer of 2008, driven by a desire to create brutally heavy, traditional death metal. Their debut album Indhentet af døden was recorded that winter and released in 2010 by Me Saco Un Ojo Records and Xtreem Music. Following its release, Undergang began touring across Europe and made their U.S. debut in 2011.

Their second album, Til døden os skiller, dropped in 2012 and was followed by tours across Europe and the U.S., including a support slot for AUTOPSY in New York. Extensive touring continued through Japan, Australia, and more, leading up to the 2015 release of Døden læger alle sår, the final entry in their “Døden” trilogy, marking their return to Me Saco Un Ojo and first release with Dark Descent Records.

In 2017, they released Misantropologi, considered a standout in their discography, followed by a major U.S. tour. By 2018, the current lineup solidified with Mads Haarløv and Martin Leth Anders joining founding members David Mikkelsen and Anders Pedersen. The band’s fifth album, Aldrig i livet, was released in late 2020 despite pandemic challenges.

Their most recent release, the 2023 EP De syv stadier af fordærv, continues their signature brand of putrid, uncompromising death metal. Undergang is currently preparing their next full-length album.
