NAXATRAS

Naxatras, the Greek psychedelic rock band, has spent over a decade forging a distinctive presence in the hard psych scene. With five critically acclaimed albums under their belt, they have evolved from a predominantly jam-oriented band into one that balances spontaneity with deliberate craftsmanship. This transformation is the natural result of years of touring, artistic exploration, and a steadfast commitment to their unique sound.

In 2015, they recorded their first full-length album at Magnetic Fidelity with Jesus I. Agnew as their sound engineer. Only analog equipment was used in the recording/mixing/mastering stages of the album. All the songs in the record were performed entirely live during just one day. “Naxatras”, which was released in 2015, became one of the best-selling releases of the genre.

In 2016, they released their second full-length album “II” as well as an EP. In 2017, they released the single “All the Stars Collide Into a Single Ray” and recorded their third full-length album, using similar fully analog and live techniques. Their third album “III” was released in 2018, followed by a corresponding live album from their sold-out concert in Athens, which took place at the iconic venue Gagarin 205.

For their fourth endeavor, Naxatras recruited multi-instrumentalist Pantelis Kargas for the keyboards and synthesizers. The artwork is a creation of longtime collaborator and friend, Chris RW, whose artistic vision accompanied all of their albums. “IV” was released in 2022.

On their latest album, “V” (2025), Naxatras took a bold leap forward, expanding the ingredients of their sound, broadening their influences, and incorporating not only the classic touchstones of ’70s progressive rock but also world music flavors and electronic elements.

The band has developed a reputation for high-energy live performances, combining their music with mesmerising visuals to accomplish full stimulation of the senses. They have gone on numerous tours and performed in most European countries, including distinguished festivals such as Desertfest, Ozora and Dunajam and a tour in Australia.

Naxatras have sold over 20,000 vinyl records and CD’s as well as myriads of merch items, all of which have been funded and produced by the band itself. They have managed to maintain their independent DIY ethos while the production value of their albums, music videos and merchandize is consistently top-notch. Their highly original works exists in a universe of its own, both conceptually and aesthetically.
