Five damned dudes, banished from the pits of hell, smelling of brimstone and cheap beer. Raised on heavy metal and rock ’n’ roll, brewed together with a bad attitude and devil worship, Håndgemeng emerged from the cauldron with guitars in hand. Their self-proclaimed “Doom ’n’ Roll” blends crushing doom, stoner metal, classic hard rock and heavy metal with a punk attitude and a healthy dose of Norwegian humour.
Riff after riff, Håndgemeng will take you from the depths of hell to the farthest reaches of space. Together, we will escape Prison Planet Earth, if only for a little while.
In 2023, Håndgemeng signed with Californian label Ripple Music, one of the leading homes for stoner, doom, heavy psych and heavy rock. Their debut album, Ultraritual, received strong reviews in Norway and internationally, while the band also signed an endorsement deal with Orange Amplifiers.
Since then, Håndgemeng have established themselves as a powerful live act, touring extensively across Norway and Europe and appearing at festivals and venues alongside some of the strongest names in the heavy, doom and stoner scene.
Their second album, Satanic Panic Attack, was released by Ripple Music in April 2025. The album marked a further evolution of the band’s sound, moving beyond strict genre boundaries while returning to their earliest influences. Built around the 1980s phenomenon known as the “Satanic Panic”, the record combines classic hard rock, tough-as-nails stoner doom and brash heavy metal with Håndgemeng’s trademark sense of humour and larger-than-life attitude.
2026 has seen the band step up their European activity considerably. Håndgemeng have appeared at major festivals including Desertfest Berlin, Desertfest Oslo, Freak Valley Festival and Copenhell, as well as touring Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France and the UK. Their 2026 schedule has also included shows in London, Birmingham, Newcastle and Sheffield, alongside further Norwegian festival and club appearances.
The band’s 2026 activity also includes a performance at Tundra & Lightning in Bergen, while their momentum continues into 2027 with a confirmed appearance at Rockharz Festival in Germany.
Håndgemeng are continuing to expand their European presence and bring their chaotic, riff-heavy Doom ’n’ Roll extravaganza in an upcoming album in Spring 2027.
