Bl’ast! is a legendary hardcore force from Santa Cruz, California. Formed in 1983, the band pioneered a raw, aggressive sound that fused the speed and intensity of hardcore with heavy, Sabbath-inspired riffs and street-level urgency. As one of the cornerstone acts of the ’80s SST Records roster, Bl’ast! built a cult following through their explosive live shows and influential releases.

Guitarist Mike Neider, the sole original member, founder, and primary composer, has anchored the band’s sonic vision for over four decades. Joined by original bassist Dave Cooper, the current lineup delivers a renewed, high-octane assault featuring Nick Oliveri (Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Mondo Generator) on bass & guitar since 2013 on vocals since 2026 bringing the band to a whole new dimensional high energy level. and Jon Garrett (Speed Dealer, Mondo Generator, Mos Generator) on drums summing up & accenting Bl’ast! drumming to a dynamic level with modern pouncing rhythms.

With a discography that includes classics like The Power of Expression (1985), It’s in My Blood, and Take the Manic Ride, Bl’ast! has remained a benchmark in American hardcore. Recent activity includes reissues and remasters via Dave Grohl, Southern Lord, festival appearances, tours with acts like Eyehategod, Crowbar, Corrosion of Conformity, Down Nola, Slayer to Black Flag and a fresh wave of new material in the works.

Known for their no-holds-barred, chaotic live performances, Bl’ast! brings decades of desert-hardened power and punk rock authenticity to every stage. The current lineup combines the band’s classic sound with the raw energy and experience of its members, making them a must-see act for fans of real underground. Bl’ast! are available for festivals, tours and selected label opportunities for 2026–2027.
